Charles Lundelius is a managing director in BRG’s Capital Markets group. He specializes in regulation of and securities trading by broker-dealers, investment advisers, hedge funds, insurance companies, and banks, and commodities trading by futures commission merchants.
As an expert witness over the past twenty years, Mr. Lundelius has testified in more than 50 different cases. When the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) identified key cases it brought relating to the 2007 financial crisis, Mr. Lundelius had testified or was asked to testify in three of those matters. Also, among his more notable consulting engagements, he was asked by the SEC inspector general to lead the team investigating the SEC’s overlooking of the Madoff Ponzi scheme. Subsequently, the National Futures Association (NFA) asked Mr. Lundelius to lead an investigation of the failure of NFA auditors to detect fraud at Peregrine Financial Group, Inc.
Mr. Lundelius is a Certified Public Accountant and is Accredited in Business Valuation and Certified in Financial Forensics by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.
In 2003, Mr. Lundelius authored Financial Reporting Fraud: A Practical Guide to Detection and Internal Control, peer-reviewed and published by the AICPA, which is currently used as a textbook in academic and professional courses. The second edition of the book was released in July 2010.
