A former senior U.S. federal prosecutor, Gerry advises multinational corporations and individuals in high-stakes white collar and regulatory enforcement matters, internal investigations and complex commercial litigation. Prior to joining Akin, Gerry served for over eight years—including three and a half as an Assistant Chief—in the FCPA Unit of the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) Criminal Division’s Fraud Section. In that role, Gerry supervised and participated in over 100 investigations and prosecutions involving FCPA violations, money laundering, securities fraud, wire fraud, sanctions violations, tax evasion and other corruption-related offenses.

Prior to his tenure at the DOJ, Gerry spent six years as an associate specializing in white collar defense and securities litigation matters at a leading international law firm and clerked for Judge Roslynn R. Mauskopf in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of New York. Gerry received his J.D. with honors from Columbia Law School, where he served as Notes Editor for the Columbia Business Law Review.
