Michael Lieberman

Assistant Director, Enforcement Division, Office of Foreign Assets Control

Michael Lieberman is Assistant Director for Enforcement at the Office of Foreign Assets Control at the U.S. Department of the Treasury. His previous positions at Treasury include acting Deputy Assistant Secretary for Global Affairs, Director for Europe/Russia and Iran, and Senior Advisor to the Assistant Secretary for Terrorist Financing. Prior to joining Treasury, Michael was an associate at a top international law firm, where he specialized in sanctions, anti-corruption, export controls and international trade. He is currently a term member on the Council on Foreign Relations. His publications include articles/op-eds with the Hague Academy of International Law, The Hill, The Jerusalem Post, Military Law Review, and the Israel Law Review. Michael received his J.D. from Berkeley Law, a M.A.L.D. from the Fletcher School at Tufts University, and a B.A. and B.S. from the University of Texas at Austin.
