Robert Maddox is a member of Debevoise & Plimpton LLP’s Data Strategy & Security practice, based in London. In 2021 he was named to Global Data Review’s “40 Under 40”. His practice focuses on cybersecurity incident preparation and response, internal investigations and regulatory defence. Robert also advises on data strategy issues including data protection compliance in the context of emerging technologies.
Robert acts for clients across a wide range of industries including financial services, private equity, media and entertainment, as well as for sovereign states and international organisations. He helps clients respond to all major types of cybersecurity incident, including APT/nation state threat actors, business email compromises, ransomware and payment card skimming attacks.
Robert’s articles and views on cybersecurity-related issues have been featured in Global Data Review, Practical Law, Insurance Day, Strategic Risk, Global Reinsurance, Law 360 and The Deal. Robert has also delivered cybersecurity training for the Financial Times Non-Executive Director training programme.
