Matthew Jacques

Chief Accountant, SEC's Division of Enforcement

Matt Jacques is the Chief Accountant of the SEC’s Division of Enforcement having returned to the agency in October 2018. He had previously served as a senior forensic accountant in the SEC’s Boston Regional Office from 2007 to 2013. He has nearly two decades of experience as a public accountant, regulator, expert witness and forensic accountant.

Mr. Jacques has led teams conducting complex forensic investigations in high-profile accounting, securities, anti-corruption and other financial matters. Prior to his time at the SEC, he worked as managing director at an international advisory firm and a forensic accountant at Big Four accounting firm, where he was engaged by counsel to provide technical accounting expertise in investigations and litigation. He began his career in public accounting as an auditor.

Mr. Jacques is a certified public accountant, certified fraud examiner and holds an accounting degree from the University of Notre Dame.
